Brush Engineered Materials Inc. (NYSE:BW) appoints James P. Marrotte Vice President, Controller. Mr. Marrotte has primary responsibility for management of the Company's accounting function.

Jim Marrotte joined the Company in 1981 and has held a variety of positions in Accounting, Treasury and Audit. He has served as the Corporate Controller since 1995. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Corporate Controller and was the International Controller for several years. His experience with the Company includes two years as a Treasury Analyst and four years as an Accounting Supervisor at S. K. Wellman, a former subsidiary of the Company. Mr. Marrotte holds a BBA from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio and is also a CPA. Commenting on this action John D. Grampa, Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer, said, "Jim has a broad range of financial and controllership experience in our Company. He's an important member of our senior financial team and will play a key role in our efforts to continue to advance our financial reporting processes."
