Bruno said he wants a meeting with Governor George Pataki, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Silver to discuss the best possible use for the rail yards on the West Side of Manhattan. In a May 5 letter leaked to the press this week, the chairman of the U.S. Olympic Committee, Peter Ueberroth, told Gov. Pataki, Sen. Bruno and Speaker Silver that, without the Jets stadium there would be no 2012 games in New York City New York City: see New York, city.

It was reported this week that Bruno said, "We're waiting still to get clarity on some of the answers to questions that we've asked that pertain to the stadium and the ramifications ramifications nplAuswirkungen pl  of it. I still believe that the most productive thing that can happen for this city and the state is to have a public meeting with the governor, the mayor, the speaker, and myself, and anyone else that we need to have an intelligent discussion as to the best use of that site over the MTA yards."

According to published reports, Silver is supporting Bruno in his calls for a fresh round of meetings.
