Bruno left all the other professional skiers in his wake by winning the showcase end of season event and was joined by more than 250 amateur skiers, a record for the competition. The five event course is exactly the same for all skiers, regardless of skill. Commenting on his win Bruno Kernen said, "While it was great to win against some of the best skiers in the world, for once winning was not the most important thing for us today. This is a fantastic and unique event that everyone looks forward to at the end of the season. Nowhere else is the world can we compete against eachother and amateur skiers in such a relaxed way." Maier said, "This is my first appearance in the Verbier High Five by Carlsberg' and I hope I will be back next year to take up the challenge again. I really enjoyed competing against my fellow professionals and all the amateurs that made the effort to join us from all over Europe. That is what made it really special."
