Bruno's Supermarkets, Inc. is pleased to announce the grand opening of its newest Bruno's store, located at 1530 East Glenn Avenue, Auburn, Alabama Auburn is a city in Lee County, Alabama. It is the largest city in eastern Alabama with a 2006 population of 51,906 (according to the U.S. Census estimates).[1]  on Wednesday, December 11, 2002.

"We believe the Auburn-Opelika community deserves a shopping experience that combines convenience and value with extraordinary selection and terrific customer service," said Donald Long, Director of Advertising for Bruno's Supermarkets, Inc. "Our goal is to provide our shoppers all the services and items needed as well as an opportunity to discover something new and different," commented Long.

Auburn's new store will feature Bruno's signature Vincent's To-Go offering an extensive menu of prepared salads and entrees, Bruno's Swiss Pastry pastry, general name for baked articles of food made of paste or having paste as a necessary ingredient. The name is also used for the paste itself. The essential elements of paste are flour, liquid (usually milk or water, sometimes beaten egg), and shortening.  Shoppe with freshly prepared cakes and pastries and a Grab & Go case stocked with Adj. 1. stocked with - furnished with more than enough; "rivers well stocked with fish"; "a well-stocked store"

One feature that makes Bruno's unique to Auburn is their Community Event Room. "Our customers have asked us to include this room in our new store designs because it provides a much-needed meeting space for community groups," Long said. The room seats 30-40 and may be reserved at no charge.

The media and local community are invited to attend the "Taste of Bruno's" preview party on Tuesday evening, December 10th, beginning at 6:30pm. This special event will feature live cooking demonstrations by the Bruno's Chef Team along with free samples and special offers.

 sports hero, Bo Jackson Vincent Edward "Bo" Jackson (born November 30, 1962 in Bessemer, Alabama) is an American athlete and a former multi-sport professional. Jackson played at the highest level of sports in the United States in both American football and baseball.  will participate in the ribbon cutting and sign autographs for one hour following the ceremony. Bruno's will provide free Bo Jackson pies and carnations to the first 200 visitors. Free cookies and balloons will be offered all day to children who visit the store.

Bruno's shoppers will also be able to register to win one of three Grand Opening Celebration prizes:

-- First Prize: VIP Trip to Cancun, Mexico
