GRAHAM Drury is urging his Birmingham riders to restore some pride when they go to Rye House tonight.

The Perry Barr chief, who is scouring the continent for potential new signings, is keen to see an improvement from the under-fire riders.

They head to Hoddesdon in Knockout Cup action with a 10-point deficit from the first leg.

And time is running out for the current line-up to stay together as a new set of rider averages to govern team building will come into effect on Wednesday week, should Birmingham complete their 12th official meeting in time.

"I never give up on anything in speedway but obviously we're going to a daunting track tonight and we're already 10 points down,''

said Drury. "What I need to see from the lads is a fresh determination. I need to see some pride in the performance and we don't want to be conceding too many points.

"But it's a tough place to go, we know that, and Rye House have got a great team together this season.

"It's going to be tough but we'll stick together and try and give a good account of ourselves for the travelling supporters."

Tomasz Piszcz is set to return to the Birmingham side after missing Wednesday's defeat at King's Lynn with broken fingers.

He rode for Elite League club Poole on Thursday at Swindon and won a race but was clearly still in some discomfort.
