Brum's rose for floral judges will live forever.


A UNIQUE rose that will never wilt and die was created in Birmingham this year to mark the city's Britain in Bloom Britain in Bloom is a horticultural competition in the United Kingdom. It was first held in 1963; it has been organised by the Royal Horticultural Society since 2002 and is currently sponsored by Shredded Wheat.  extravaganza.

Two electro-plated roses were presented as mementos of Birmingham to City Centre in Bloom judges who looked for the best floral displays in the Jewellery Quarter.

Elkington's electro plating factory in the Jewellery Quarter was where electro-plating first began.

In 1845 VIP visitor Prince Albert was presented with an electro-plated rose as a gift for Queen Victoria.
