Bruker Daltonics Reports First Quarter 2001 Bookings of New Life Science Systems Orders.

Bruker Daltonics Inc. (NASDAQ: BDAL) today announced that new order bookings for its life science systems based on mass spectrometry were highly satisfactory in the first quarter of 2001, which ended on March 31, 2001. Subject to the cautionary statement below, Bruker Daltonics therefore is not changing its previous guidance provided on March 1st, 2001.

"In light of recent uncertainty and volatility in our stock price and stock prices in our sector, we have examined our new order bookings for life science bookings very carefully after the end of the first quarter", stated Frank H. Our life science systems new order bookings for the first quarter have increased more than 30% compared to the first quarter 2000, which supports our long-term expectation of top-line product revenue growth >25%, with 2001 product revenue expected to grow at approximately 28%."
