Bruker Daltonics Receives Contract for the Detection Suite of 32 Fox NBC Reconnaissance Vehicles.


BILLERICA, Mass. -- The NBC NBC

Major U.S. commercial broadcasting company. It was formed in 1926 by RCA Corp., General Electric Co. (GE), and Westinghouse and was the first U.S. company to operate a broadcast network.
 Detection Business of Bruker Daltonik GmbH (Leipzig, Germany) today announces a contract with Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH (Kiel, Germany) for the supply of nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) detectors for 32 Fox NBC reconnaissance vehicles for the United Arab Emirates United Arab Emirates, federation of sheikhdoms (2005 est. pop. 2,563,000), c.30,000 sq mi (77,700 sq km), SE Arabia, on the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. .

The range of Bruker Daltonics NBC detectors to be supplied under this contract includes:

--integrated RAID(TM)-S filter monitoring systems and hand-held RAID(TM)-M detectors for chemical warfare agent detection based on ion mobility spectrometry (IMS (1) See IP Multimedia Subsystem.

(2) (Information Management System) An early IBM hierarchical DBMS for IBM mainframes. IMS was widely implemented throughout the 1970s under MVS and continues to be used under z/OS.
);

--the SVG2 integrated radiation detection system, as well as hand-held SVG2 detectors;

--16 Fox vehicles will be equipped with the RAPID(TM) chemical warfare agent stand-off detector based on Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR FTIR Fourier Transform Infrared (spectroscopy)

) technology, which has been developed in collaboration with affiliate Bruker Optics Inc.;

--16 Fox vehicles will be equipped with the Mobile Mass Spectrometer MM2(TM); the MM2 is the successor to the well established MM1 which has been the standard in mobile chemical reconnaissance for the last two decades; and

--various detectors for a FOX NBC simulation system, as well as replacement systems and spare parts.

It is anticipated that the bulk of the deliveries under this greater than $14 million contract will occur in the years 2007 and 2008. Under the contract, Bruker Daltonics also has provided options to Rheinmetall for additional biological detection systems, and for NBC detectors for up to an additional 28 Fox vehicles.
