Bruker Daltonics Announces Selection of its Range of Chemical Agent Detectors for Slovenian Armored Vehicles.

LEIPZIG, Germany -- Bruker Daltonik GmbH today announced that it was awarded a $3.5 million contract to supply the Slovenian Army with a series of long range and point chemical detectors for integration into Slovenia's new lightweight reconnaissance vehicles. This contract has been awarded in cooperation with Em.tronic d.o.o., a Slovenian defense contractor. The Bruker Daltonics equipment to be supplied consists of RAPID(TM) infrared chemical standoff detectors, RAID-S2TM ion mobility spectrometers (IMS) for vehicle air monitoring and RAID-M100TM IMS systems for hand-held chemical agent detection. The equipment will be delivered over the next two years.

Bruker's RAPID(TM) is the leading long-range standoff chemical warfare agent detector for remote detection of hazardous gases up to a distance of several kilometers.

The RAID-S2TM is designed for integration into vehicles, ships and facilities to measure chemical agents in ambient air, both inside and outside with dual sampling capability.

The acclaimed RAID-M 100TM hand-held chemical agent monitor is for use by troops dismounting the vehicles for both personal protection and surveillance activities.

Dr. Joachim Stach, Director for Marketing and Sales for Bruker CBRN equipment, commented: "We are very pleased with this selection by the Slovenian Armed Forces for their chemical agent detection equipment program. This contract further solidifies Bruker's position as the premier provider of detection instruments for military vehicle programs. We are also looking forward to working with Em.tronic as one of our new European partners."
