Bruker Daltonics Announces Order for Multiple RAPID Long-Distance Detection Systems for Chemical Defense.

Bruker Daltonics Inc. (NASDAQ: BDAL) today announced that it has received a contract for its novel RAPID(TM) remote detectors for chemical defense. The total contract value exceeds $1 million, and has been financed by the U.S. Department of Defense Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program. This contract represents the first multiple systems order for our new RAPID system.

RAPID is based on infrared technology and has the ability to scan the horizon automatically. It can remotely identify most known chemical warfare agents, as well as many important toxic industrial chemicals, over distances of several kilometers. This rugged detector may be mounted on several platforms, and can even detect on the move.
