Bruker Daltonics Announces Microorganism Identification and Classification Webinar.BILLERICA, Mass. -- Bruker Daltonics today announced a Webinar on Advanced Microorganism microorganism /mi·cro·or·gan·ism/ (-or´gah-nizm) a microscopic organism; those of medical interest include bacteria, fungi, and protozoa. Identification and Classification to take place on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 9:00 AM Western European Time Western European Time (WET, UTC+0, and commonly known as Greenwich Mean Time in the United Kingdom) is the time zone covering parts of western and northwestern Europe, including the following countries and regions:
The classification and identification of microorganisms is achieved reliably and rapidly using high throughput Bruker MALDI mass spectrometry mass spectrometry or mass spectroscopy Analytic technique by which chemical substances are identified by sorting gaseous ions by mass using electric and magnetic fields. . Applications areas include clinical diagnostics research, environmental and taxonomical research, food processing, and quality control. Bruker's robust methodology requires minimal sample preparation efforts and low cost per sample over the life of the instrument. Bruker scientists will first brief microbiologists on the different Bruker microorganism identification solutions at the American Society for Microbiology's 107th General Meeting, Booth 147. Bruker scientist Dr. Oksana Gvozdyak will also present a poster (I-091, 287) on May 24 in the afternoon which is entitled "MALDI-TOF MALDI-TOF Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization - Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry Based Cluster Analysis in Bacterial Biodiversity Studies." The ASM (1) (Association for Systems Management) An international membership organization based in Cleveland, Ohio. Founded in 1947 and disbanded in 1996, it sponsored conferences in all phases of administrative systems and management. General Meeting will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre Metro Toronto Convention Centre, located in Downtown Toronto, Ontario at 255 Front Street West, has 600,000 square feet of space. The convention centre was completed in October 1984 and is home to the 1330 seat John Bassett Theatre, currently used for Canadian Idol. May 21-25.
