What: Bruegger's announces the return of the Red, White and Blue
bagel fundraiser to honor military troops and their families.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Red, White & Blue
bagels will benefit Operation Homefront, a not for profit
organization that supports the families of deployed troops.
With a motto of "Supporting our troops and the families they
left behind," Operation Homefront was created in the
aftermath of September 11 to channel volunteer support to
help our troops, families of deployed military personnel, and
wounded warriors. With hundreds of thousands of service
members deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq and numerous others
around the world fighting the war on terrorism, thousands of
spouses and children are left behind. Operation Homefront
addresses needs such as emergency assistance with home and
car repairs, food and household items, computers with
Internet access to communicate with loved ones, deployed
troop care packages, and financial and logistical assistance
for wounded warriors trying to re-build their lives.
Where: Participating Bruegger's bakeries nationwide. Operation
Homefront and Bruegger's spokespersons will be available in
most locations.
