Bruce Skinner, M.D. Joins the Motley Rice Medical Litigation Team; Medical Expert Joins Litigation Firm's Growing Medical Group.

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. -- Motley Rice LLC, one of the nation's largest plaintiffs' litigation firms, today announced that Bruce S. Skinner, MD has joined the firm's medical practice group as an in-house medical expert. He will be based in the firm's Mt. Pleasant, S.C. headquarters and report directly to the medical practice group leader, attorney Fred Thompson.

Skinner will provide in-house, real-time expert review of medical records as they relate to pharmaceutical drug and medical device cases. He will assist in reviewing potential medical, hospital and nursing home abuse/neglect cases where his expertise allows, and will work in coordinating with outside and trial experts. Because of his extensive background in the field, he will also keep the medical team abreast of new emerging trends and developments as they relate to the medical industry. Skinner has more than twenty-five years of experience in the medical field and more than five years experience as an expert medical consultant in litigation matters.

Skinner's medical specialty is Internal Medicine, having earned his M.D. from the University of Genoa in Genoa, Italy. With medical licenses to practice in Pennsylvania and South Carolina, he has served as the Attending Physician in the Emergency Department at the Presbyterian/University of Pennsylvania Hospital, the Staff Internist at NavCare II, the Staff Physician at Primedical/Humana Corporation and the Family Medicine Clinic at the Beaufort Naval Hospital, and the Primary Care Provider at the Charleston Naval Hospital Primary Care Center and Trident Health System St. Stephen Primary Care Center. Since 1999, he has been self-employed as a Medical Review and Research Consultant for personal injury, medical malpractice and drug mass tort cases in Charleston, South Carolina.
