Originally known as the Graduate School of International Economics and Finance, the school has expanded its expertise to , effective July 1, 2007. "Bruce Magid offers a rare ability to blend both academic leadership and professional practice within our global business school,'' Brandeis Provost Marty Krauss said. Magid is currently dean of the College of Business at San Jose San Jose, city, United States San Jose (sănəzā`, săn hōzā`), city (1990 pop. 782,248), seat of Santa Clara co., W central Calif.; founded 1777, inc. 1850. "We are delighted that Bruce Magid accepted this challenge." Magid will succeed F. Trenery Dolbear Jr., who is currently serving as acting dean of IBS. Last year, Professor Peter A. Petri, founding dean of IBS, returned to the school's faculty after serving 12 years in the leadership position. Magid will hold an endowed chair as dean of IBS.
