Bruce Mosler will receive Modell Humanitarian Award.

Real estate executive Bruce Mosler, vice chairman and regional president of The Galbreath Company, will be the 1996 recipient of the Jeffrey Modell Foundation (JMF) Humanitarian Award, the highest honor bestowed by the non-profit advocacy organization dedicated to improving the lives of the 500,000 Americans, mostly children, afflicted with primary immune deficiency.

Mosler will be presented with the award at the Foundation's 9th annual Spring Ahead Gala on April 17 at the Plaza Hotel. The event's dinner chairpersons are Stephen B. Siegel of Edward S. Gordon Company, Bernard H. Mendik of The Mendik Company and Mitchell L. Konsker of The Galbreath Company.

"Bruce Mosler's compassion and sincere commitment to the Jeffrey Modell Foundation has long been a valuable source of strength for us and the children we serve," said Fred Modell, who with his wife, Vicki, co-founded the JMF. "His contributions have benefitted thousands of children and their families, who continue to struggle with the physical, financial and psychological burdens associated with the primary immune deficiency."

In accepting the award, Mosler said "Those of us blessed with healthy children can understand the devastating consequences of childhood diseases. Through the Jeffrey Modell Foundation, we have an opportunity to make an important contribution to immunology research, which gives immune deficient kids a chance to lead normal lives."

Fred and Vicki Modell established the JMF in 1987, in honor of their son, Jeffrey, who died in 1986 from a form of primary immune deficiency. Their goal is to advance the battle against the affliction on every front until treatments and, ultimately, cures are found.

One of the real estate industry's most dynamic leaders, Mosler, who also serves as CEO of Galbreath's International Division, has been the catalyst for some of Manhattan's largest leasing and sales transactions. During the past year alone, he played a major role in Knight-Ridder's 115,000 square-foot expansion/renewal at 75 Wall Street and two Citibank space renewals comprising over 260,000 square feet at 425 Park Avenue and 111 Eighth Avenue. The combined aggregate rental of the three transactions were well in excess of $200 million.

Mosler is recognized for his ongoing representation of some of the nation's leading companies, including Bankers Trust Realty Company, Citibank, N.A., Discovery Channel, Inc., Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Mutual of New York, New York Life, Reader's Digest Association and Nissho Iwai American Corporation.

A graduate of Duke University, Mosler is a member of the Board of Directors/Brokerage of the Real Estate Board of New York, and is an Executive Committee Member of the United Jewish Appeal.

Proceeds from the Modell gala will go to benefit the Jeffrey Modell Foundation's wide range of services, including funding basic immuno-deficiency research, setting up of patient support groups, operating a toll-free number for information and referrals, sponsoring a national network of medical centers and executing public awareness and physician education campaigns.
