Bruce Kornfeld Joins Compellent as Vice President of Marketing; Former Dell Storage Group Co-Founder to Continue Company's Rapid Growth.


MINNEAPOLIS -- Compellent Technologies, a provider of modular and affordable enterprise storage solutions, today announced Bruce Kornfeld has joined the management team as Vice President of Marketing. Previously Director of Worldwide Marketing for storage and servers at Dell, Kornfeld brings to Compellent an extensive background in management and marketing.

Kornfeld will oversee all Marketing functions worldwide including product marketing, partner marketing, integrated communications and brand management for Compellent, playing a key role in the company's rapid growth.

Previously, Kornfeld was part of the team at Dell that completed the initial planning and launch of the company's storage business. He has also held numerous leadership roles in Dell's storage division, including product marketing for Dell's storage area network, network-attached storage See NAS.  and tape businesses, as well as worldwide marketing for all Dell server and storage products. Prior to joining Dell, Kornfeld worked for NCR Corporation (company) NCR Corporation - Electronics company mainly active in the midrange server market.

NCR was founded 1884 as National Cash Register Company. It joint the computer industry in th 1950s.
 in various operations, engineering, and marketing positions--all focused on high-end computing and storage systems.

Kornfeld earned master's degrees in both business administration and engineering, and a bachelor's degree in engineering from Cornell University Cornell University, mainly at Ithaca, N.Y.; with land-grant, state, and private support; coeducational; chartered 1865, opened 1868. It was named for Ezra Cornell, who donated $500,000 and a tract of land. With the help of state senator Andrew D.  in Ithaca, New York
