Brown College Commemorates 60 Years of Excellence.


MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. -- Sept. 16th Officially Declared "Brown College Day" by Governor of Minnesota The Governor of Minnesota is the chief executive of the U.S. state of Minnesota, leading the state's executive branch. In recognition of the great success Brown College has enjoyed training students in broadcasting, design, and technology, among other fields, Tim Pawlenty, Governor of Minnesota, has officially declared Sept. 16th, "Brown College Day."

"Since its inception in 1946, Brown College has continuously evolved its programs of study to align with the high demand careers of today."

Brown welcomes the public to its 60th anniversary event tomorrow at its campus in Mendota Heights, 1440 Northland Drive, from 10 am to 3 pm. Tours of the campus will take place from 10 am to noon; lunch will be served from 11-1 pm; and a DJ will provide music throughout the day. At 1 pm, two well-known Brown College graduates, Jim Wychor (1953), former president and CEO of the Minnesota Broadcasters Association, and Roy Finden (1959), who taught broadcasting at the college for 35 years, will make brief presentations. Both Finden and Wychor are inductees to the Pavek Museum of Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
