Brown & Company Options Base Commission Drops to $5 for Market Orders; JPMorgan Chase's Deep-Discount Broker Extends its $5 Price Offering to Options Trading.

), announced that it has lowered its options trading base commission to $5 for market orders ($10 for limit/stop orders) plus $1.50 per contract. The minimum online order will drop to $15 from $25 (broker assisted minimums will remain at $25). The new pricing applies to both online and broker assisted trades and is part of the brokerage's overall strategy to provide value to its experienced customer base.

Brown & Company is consistently ranked among the lowest priced brokers, and has maintained its $5 trade price for equity market orders for the past 4 years.
