The people in North West Durham voted by 74% to stay with their own local district councils. What happened? We had Durham County Council thrust upon us. Where is the democracy in that? Furthermore, I believe the same will happen with the euro and the Lisbon Treaty, where there is no way Gordon 'Bully' Brown will give us a referendum because he knows we will vote against it. Why, oh why, do these politicians treat us like children, saying they know what is best when we are not even given the chance to have our say?
