Brought back sad memories; Your Say.

I REFER to the article Family Speaks Out Over Suffering (News, 30.04.09) and the living hell Peter Wilde's family had to endure during his last few days of life while a patient at North Tees General Hospital.

Every time I read such a story, the memories of what my family went through come flooding back.

A senior member of staff from the hospital is quoted as saying "We've learned lessons and it has helped us improve things for the future".

I was given the same assurances, complete with an action plan of what had and will be changed.

That was back in March 2007. Two years on, little seems to have changed for the better.

I worked at the hospital in the early 1980s when patient care was something North Tees General Hospital could be proud of.

I know budgets are stretched, but how much does it cost for a kind word, a measure of sympathy sympathy /sym·pa·thy/ (sim´pah-the)

2. an influence produced in any organ by disease, disorder, or other change in another part.

3.
and an attitude of caring from all staff? CLARE HENDERSON Henderson.
