duo's song could inspire Liverpool to Champion's League victory.

Irwin and Alex McMillan's Fields of Anfield Road - set to the tune of Celtic favourite Fields of Athenry - has already been adopted as an anthem anthem [ultimately from antiphon], short nonliturgical choral composition used in Protestant services, usually accompanied and having an English text. The term is used in a broader sense for "national anthems" and for the Latin motets still used occasionally in  by the Reds fans.

And the Oban-born brothers, who now live in Liverpool, have shifted 5000 copies of the CD.

The song could be heard clearly during Rafael Benitez's side's narrow semi-final win over Chelsea.

And now the brothers, who play the club circuit in England as Scotch On The Rocks, hope it can help them triumph over AC Milan on Wednesday.

The McMillans recorded a number of songs for Liverpool but the one which really took off was Fields of Anfield Road, which was played regularly at home matches.

Celtic supporter Irwin admits he can't wait to hear the fans belting out his song on Wednesday.

He added: 'They will definitely sing it, I'm sure. It will make me feel so proud.

'Not many lads come south and achieve this kind of thing. I just hope the song can inspire the boys to get the right result on the pitch.'

Irwin and Alex first found fame in 1988 when they appeared on Opportunity
