Brother Supports Apple's Rendezvous with New Network Ready HL-5070N Laser Printer; HL-5070N Is One of the First Laser Printers in the Market to Offer Seamless Networking Support.

Today, Brother announced that its new HL-5070N Laser Printer will support Apple's Rendezvous, a revolutionary networking technology for automatic discovery and connection of devices.

The HL-5070N is an up to 17 page per minute, network-ready, monochrome laser printer that is slated to ship in February 2003. It replaces the award winning HL-1470N.

"The HL-5070N demonstrates Brother's continuing commitment to the Mac market by delivering a printer that is targeted at small connected workgroups and has built-in support for an industry leading networking technology," said Don Cummins, Brother's Vice President of Marketing for Fax, Printer and Multi-Function products.

Rendezvous uses industry standard networking protocols and zero configuration technology to automatically discover and connect devices over any IP network, including Ethernet and 802.11 wireless networking See wireless network. . HL-5070N - NETWORK-READY LASER PRINTER

The HL-5070N comes standard with a built-in 10/100 BaseT Ethernet print server as well as USB USB

EXTENSIVE COMPATIBILITY AND CONNECTIVITY

The new printer comes with drivers for Mac(R) OS 8.6 to 9.2 and OS X 10.1 and 10.2.2 as well as for Windows(R) 95/98/NT4.0/Me/2000/XP. Standard emulations include BR-Script 3 (PostScript(R) 3(TM) emulation), PCL (Printer Command Language) The page description language for HP LaserJet printers. It has become a de facto standard used in many printers and typesetters. PCL Level 5, introduced with the LaserJet III in 1990, also supports Compugraphic's Intellifont scalable fonts. 6, IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company.
