Brother International Corporation announces the flagship of its' new low-profile color inkjet Multi-Function Center Multi Function Center or MFC is a term used widely in the printer manufacturing world. A new type of office hardware, it combines the functions of a printer, scanner, fax and photocopier to create a compact cost effective product. (R) line, with the introduction of the MFC-845cw. This model is the first in its category to offer a combination of built-in Ethernet, wireless 802.11b/g connectivity and 5.8GHz digital cordless handset technology; creating the ultimate wireless solution for any home, home office or small office. With its fast print speed, outstanding print quality, stand-alone fax and copy capability, and integrated color LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) A display technology that uses rod-shaped molecules (liquid crystals) that flow like liquid and bend light. Unenergized, the crystals direct light through two polarizing filters, allowing a natural background color to show.  display, the MFC-845cw ($249.99*) addresses key consumer trends with a value unparalleled in the market. The MFC-845cw will be available in the market from late October.

"Integration of key technologies into our Multi-Function Center(R) products is driven by our mission to provide outstanding value to the market and our customers," said Joyce Brittingham, Senior Product Manager at Brother. "Our new MFC-845cw truly provides the ultimate all-in-one value by providing the latest in network connectivity (Ethernet and Wireless) and telephony Meaning "sound over distance," it refers to electronically transmitting the human voice. In the beginning, telephony dealt only with analog signals in the circuit-switched networks of the telephone companies.  integration (5.8GHz digital cordless handset and digital answering machine).....on top of the other great functionality and performance one can always expect from Brother."

FLAGSHIP FEATURES AND PERFORMANCE

The MFC-845cw shares the same impressive base features as the recently announced MFC-240c, MFC-440cn and MFC-665cw, which include color printing “colour separation” redirects here. For other uses, see colour-separation overlay.
Color printing is the reproduction of an image or text in color (as opposed to simpler black and white or monochrome printing).
, color copying, color scanning, color faxing, PC Fax send and PhotoCapture Center(R) technology (media card slots A socket for inserting a printed circuit board or a PC Card (CardBus card). See PC Card. (1) and Pict-Bridge interface). Key features highlights are:

-- Up to 6000 x 1200 dpi print resolution(a) (droplet size as small
    as 1.5 picoliters)
-- 5.8GHz Cordless Telephone Handset (expandable up to total of 4
    handsets)(3)
-- Ethernet-ready and built-in 802.11b/g interfaces(2)
-- 2.5" flip-up color LCD display
-- Photo bypass tray that holds up to 20 sheets of 4" x 6" glossy
    paper
-- Up to 10-page auto document feeder for unattended faxing,
    copying & scanning
-- Built-in Message Center(R) features include:
-- Digital Answering Machine (stores up to 29 minutes)

THE ULTIMATE WIRELESS SOLUTION

With both Ethernet and 802.11b/g wireless interface, the MFC-845cw is designed to be flexible regardless of your printing location needs....you can either directly connect it to your Wireless router A network device that combines a wireless access point (base station), a wired LAN switch and a router with connections to a cable or DSL service. Wireless routers provide a convenient way to connect a small number of wired and any number of wireless computers to the Internet.  via the Ethernet Interface or you can print to the MFC-845cw using the wireless connection in either infrastructure or adhoc mode. This gives users the ability to share printing, scanning, faxing and media card access with multiple users on the network. The wireless features easily facilitate placing the unit where it is most convenient to access without it being bound to the location constraints CONSTRAINTS - A language for solving constraints using value inference.

 of peripherals or end users.

Of course the MFC-845cw does not stop there. In an effort to maximize user productivity and the use of space in the home or office, Brother has integrated a 5.8GHz digital cordless handset. Such integration frees up valuable desk space that may have been taken up by having a separate phone, or provides the added convenience of a cordless handset that did not exist in that location of the home. No longer does the user need to be tethered Attached to a data or power source by wire or fiber. Contrast with untethered.  to the all-in-one when making phone calls. The MFC-845cw allows the freedom to move about freely while talking and conducting other activities around the home or the office.

The 5.8Ghz frequency spectrum in which it operates prevents interference with the wireless capabilities of the MFC-845cw or any other 802.11b/g devices within its range. Its back-lit LCD screen makes it easy to see when placing calls and viewing incoming calls. The MFC-845cw also has expandability by providing the ability to add up to 3 more Brother 5.8GHz cordless handsets (for total of 4)....to be placed in virtually any other location in the home or home office. Even three-way calling Noun 1. three-way calling - a way of adding a third party to your conversation without the assistance of a telephone operator

is possible (between handsets, the base and handsets, or three-way conference calling to outside calls). The additional handset options (Model: BCL-D10) are available separately for $89.99* each.

STANDING OUT IN THE CROWD

Several things set the Brother MFC-845cw apart from the competition. It boasts a flattering flat·ter 1

. In contrast to competitive units of a similar size, Brother consistently adds value with features such as stand-alone faxing and an auto-document feeder feeder

It also produces sharp, vibrant prints with ink droplets as small as 1.5 picoliters and print resolutions of up to 6000 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi).(a) The new integrated front loading Front loading is USA's Defense Department jargon for a method used by the Military-industrial complex to increase defense funding. Finally, a flip up Color LCD display simplifies menu navigation and provides a means of previewing photos before printing.

Innobella(TM) inks and papers were conceived and engineered to become fundamental, operational components of an integrated printing "system". Together, this "system" delivers reliable, consistent and dazzling color reproductions from the first print to the last.

The MFC-845cw utilizes a 4-cartridge ink system that only requires the user to replace the color that runs out. The new LC-51 series (Innobella TM) inks have yields of up to 500 pages for black and 400 pages for each color cartridge (1) See phono cartridge.
