Philips' Casual Call Center Solution Relies on Show N Tel(R)Release 4.5 and IP-Link to Expand Customer Contact to Voice over IP Telephony 

Brooktrout Software, Inc., a global provider of open, standards-based communication software and services, and Dialogic, an Intel Company, today announced that Philips Business Communications, a business unit of Royal Philips Electronics, has based their first self-service VoIP solution for the Enterprise on their technologies.

As a result, Philips Business Communications has begun offering its Enterprise customers with this "best-of-breed" casual call center solution that supports and manages the delivery of telephone calls and other Internet/Intranet traffic over IP networks. The solution also manages the delivery of calls over traditional landline telephone networks.

This communication solution is built on a VoIP platform based on a tight integration of Show N Tel, Brooktrout Software's award-winning software development platform for communication solutions, with Dialogic's pioneering DM3 IP-Link(TM) technology, a comprehensive, standards-based software and hardware development platform for IP telephony servers.

Philips' Contact@Net(TM) provides self-service features that automate the handling of all calls in the call center. The telephony self-service portion of Philips' Contact@Net(TM) product was built and integrated using Show N Tel. Calls that require the additional assistance of live agents are prioritized and sent to the appropriate destination as determined by the caller profile information captured by Show N Tel.

Philips' recently selected Dialogic's DM3 IP-Link platform to provide IP support. Because Show N Tel is so extensible, Philips was able to integrate and leverage the DM3 IP-Link technology to enhance their existing solution. Now Contact@Net can handle VoIP calls, both self-service and agent-assisted. This enhanced version of the Contact@Net solution identifies the caller by phone number, IP address, or touch-tone, and then transfers the call to an appropriate agent.
