Brookstone Announces Third Quarter Sales.

NASHUA, NH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--November 6, 1997--Brookstone, Inc. (Nasdaq: BKST) today announced sales for the third quarter and nine months ended November 1, 1997.

Total sales for the third quarter of fiscal 1997 increased 10.8% to $38.8 million compared to $35.0 million for the third quarter of last year. Same store sales for the period increased 4.5%. During the quarter, Brookstone opened 6 new stores for a year-to-date total of 12 stores, including 2 airport locations. The balance of the Company's 1997 expansion schedule remains on track for a total of 16 new regular-format stores, 4-6 airport stores, and 130-140 holiday seasonal stores.

Total sales for the first nine months of fiscal 1997 increased 10.5% to $116.8 million compared to $105.7 million for the first nine months of last year. Same store sales for the first nine months increased 3.3%.
