Brooks Sports Appoints James M. Weber as President and CEO.

BOTHELL, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 2001

Brooks Sports, Inc. announced today the appointment of Jim Weber as President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. .

Weber will be responsible for strengthening the Brooks brand, growing sales and developing marketing partnerships with key retailers.

Prior to joining Brooks Sports, Inc., Weber was Managing Director at U.S Bancorp Piper Jaffray Piper Jaffray & Co. (NYSE: PJC), often shortened to just Piper Jaffray or PiperJaffray, is a U.S. middle-market investment banking firm based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is a focused on delivering financial advice, investment products and transaction execution  in its Seattle Investment Banking practice. In that role, Weber focused on both public and private companies in the consumer products industry. Jim has also been on the Brooks Board for the past two years.

The former president, Eric Dreyer has left Brooks Sports, Inc. to pursue other endeavors. Vigano said, "Eric has made a significant contribution to Brooks over the years and we wish him every success."

Iverson has held CEO positions with Laura Ashley, KayBee Toys and Mothercare UK, has over 40 years in the retail industry, including Bloomingdale's and divisions of Dayton Hudson along with 10 years in the international arena.
