The "Upper Fifth" concept, Miller said, supports Unico's vision for distinguishing the Metropolitan Tract as a five-star location for shops, restaurants, offices, residences and hotels.

Unico is prepared to anchor the southern end of its "Upper Fifth" promenade with a new 5,500-square-foot building designed for two high-end national retailers and is marketing the location nationwide to upscale retailers not yet represented in the Seattle market. Construction of the new retail complex, to be located in front of the IBM Building IBM Building can refer to one of the following:

 at Fifth and University, will begin once a signature retail tenant is secured.

The Brooks Brothers store will represent nearly 30 percent of the Skinner Building's retail. The upper levels of the eight-story Skinner Building are dedicated to office use.

The Metropolitan Tract is a six-block parcel bound by Union and Seneca streets and Third and Sixth avenues. Unico has developed and managed the Tract since 1953. Major properties on the Tract include Rainier Tower, Rainier Square, Puget Sound Plaza Puget Sound Plaza is a 21-story skyscraper in the Metropolitan Tract of Seattle, Washington.
