:BRKS BRKS Brooks (street suffix) ) announced today that it filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission covering a proposed public offering 2,350,000 shares of common stock, to be underwritten by PaineWebber Inc., Cowen & Co. and Needham & Co. Inc. as representatives of the underwriters.

Of the 2,350,000 shares being offered, one million will be sold by the company and 1,350,000 will be sold by certain stockholders. The company plans to use the net proceeds Net Proceeds
