: BRKS BRKS Brooks (street suffix) ), a leading supplier of tool and factory automation solutions for the semiconductor industry, today announced it has acquired the Daifuku Co., Ltd. Business Unit, which acts as distributor for its AutoSimulations Division software products, and made it part of Brooks Automation--Japan (BA-J). The acquisition enhances Brooks' presence in the Japanese market and Brooks' ability to provide software and services for the simulation and scheduling markets in Japan.

The acquisition, which was structured as a purchase of substantially all the former Daifuku division's assets, enables Brooks Automation, AutoSimulations Division, to provide direct sales and support for its integrated factory automation solutions to simulation and scheduling customers in Japan. The acquisition gives customers a direct relationship with Brooks Automation, the developer and supporter of the AutoSimulations software products.

The majority of sales, service and support personnel formerly of the Daifuku division have joined Brooks Automation--Japan. The addition of these individuals to the BA-J staff will ensure that customers will continue to receive the highest quality support for their simulation and scheduling software.
