The board of directors of Empire State Development Corp. has given final approval to the general project plan for Brooklyn Bridge Park The future Brooklyn Bridge Park will be the first major new park development in Brooklyn since Prospect Park was built 135 years ago. It will stretch 1.3 miles along the East River from Atlantic Avenue to just north of the Manhattan Bridge. .

The proposed 85-acre Brooklyn Bridge Park will stretch approximately 1.3 miles along the East River from Atlantic Avenue The following streets in the United States are named Atlantic Avenue:
  • Atlantic Avenue (Boston) in Massachusetts
  • Atlantic Avenue (New York City) in Brooklyn and Queens, New York
