The video/data wall is part of an NT-based network at the VA which also includes NT Exchange and a large, scaleable integrated database architecture. "The goals of the video wall display are straightforward," said Linda Bund, Director of Information Systems at the Bronx VA. "The wall presents timely and accurate information on services available to veterans, the VA's mission, healthcare choices and achievements, and promotes the VA as an employer of choice. Over 4,000 patients, visitors, volunteers and employees pass by the lobby display every day." The Internet portion of the programming includes PointCast streams on news, weather and sports. The pre-programmed information is driven off of a Microsoft NT and PowerPoint system and includes displays of some of the high tech healthcare and diagnostic equipment used by the medical center's staff. "The wall must be informative, and visually elegant," stated Ms. Bund. "Like Internet pages a web site, the display needs to be ever-changing and constantly updated.
