He leaves his wife of 49 years, Helena (Plaziak) Cichy; a daughter, Renata Sporna and her husband Jan of North Oxford with whom he made his home; three granddaughters, Magdalena, Agata and Urszula; and a brother, Alfred Cichy of Poland. He was born in Zbik, Poland, a son of Czeslaw and Anna (Molik) Cichy and lived in Poland for many years. He came to Worcester in 1994 and later lived in Holden Holden, town (1990 pop. 14,628), Worcester co., central Mass., a residential suburb of Worcester; settled 1723, set off and inc. 1741. Manufactures include electrical and metal products, plastics, and machinery.  before coming to North Oxford.

Mr. Cichy was a mechanical engineer many years for a manufacturing company in Poland. He retired several years ago. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Worcester.

The funeral will be held on Friday June 29 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St, Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 a.m in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester.
