Bromsgrove so generous for charity; CHARITY DARTS.Byline: Ken Herbert THE Bromsgrove Darts League selected a first-rate venue in the Millfield Social Club and, together with a strong team, ensured a warm welcome for our visit. Bromsgrove were in fine form but despite their gallant efforts it was the Sports Argus who had the edge to win 6-3. Top honours must go to Bromsgrove's Ian Oliver, who turned in a 35-plus average. But the star of the night was the Bromsgrove League's officials, members and players who presented pounds 500 for charity. Our thanks for a wonderful effort. Tony Randell opened in style by clinching a 2-0 victory to defeat Simon Mountford (DDS&S). Martin Tibbetts came up against a powerhouse in Ian Oliver (Golden Lion), who took the first leg in 13 darts and the second in 15 darts, completing a 2-0 success. The Sports Argus went 2-1 down as Tom McGlone was outscored by Brian Mountford (DDS&S). A run of 2-0 successes put the Sports Argus back in control - Dave Bourne Bourne, town (1990 pop. 16,064), Barnstable co., SE Mass., crossed by Cape Cod Canal; settled 1627, inc. 1884. Bourne Bridge (1935), across the canal, made the town an entry point to Cape Cod and a resort and commercial center. 5x100 over Phil Whitlock (Catshill SC), Bob Nixon 5x100 beating Mark Luscott (Golden Lion) and John Sidwell defeating Alan Holdom (DDS&S). This put the Sports Argus ahead at 4-3 but Bromsgrove bounced back when in a tight struggle Adrian Arnold 6x100 lost out 2-1 to Steve Kings (Catshill). Derek Duggan won 2-0 against Gregg Lynch (Golden Lion) ensuring victory for the Sports Argus, followed by Jim Norris James Francis Norris (born December 20, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York) was a Major League Baseball player from 1977 to 1980 for the Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers.
