Brompton Equal Weight Oil & Gas Income Fund Announces Filing Of Preliminary Prospectus.TORONTO -- Brompton Energy Trust Management Limited is pleased to announce that Brompton Oil & Gas Income Fund has filed a preliminary prospectus Preliminary Prospectus A first draft registration statement filed by a firm prior to proceeding with an initial public offering of securities. The document, filed with the Securities & Exchange Commission, is intended to provide pertinent information to prospective shareholders in respect of an initial public offering of trust units. The Fund is designed to provide unitholders with the opportunity to receive high levels of tax efficient monthly cash distributions by investing in an equally weighted diversified portfolio of oil and gas income trusts using a passive index-like investment approach and to receive the benefit of low management fees. The Fund will invest in a portfolio, which will comprise an equal dollar amount of each oil and gas income trust listed on the TSX TSX Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE before April, 2002) TSX Transfer from Stack Pointer to Index TSX True Space Extension having a float capitalization of at least $500 million. As at August 16, 2004, there were 19 qualifying income funds which represented approximately 90% of the float capitalization of the oil and gas income trusts listed on the TSX. As a result of the equal weight approach, each oil and gas income trust would constitute approximately 5.3% of the portfolio. Prospective purchasers may purchase units either by cash payment or by an exchange of units of any oil and gas income trusts that are to be included in the portfolio, as described in the preliminary prospectus.
