Brokat and Compaq Team Up to Offer Front-to-Back Web Banking Solution.

Compaq to Market Brokat's e-Banking Products

Brokat, one of the world's leading providers of software for e-banking and e-business solutions, announced today it has signed a third party software distribution agreement with Compaq Computer Corporation, the world's largest supplier of computing systems and a leading provider of global services. Under the terms of the reseller agreement, Brokat and Compaq will leverage their strengths in order to sell, implement and support Brokat's electronic cash management solutions (e-CMS), targeting the top 100 North American financial institutions.

This move is part of a broad strategic alliance to continue to solidify Brokat's position as a key solutions provider of e-finance applications to top-tier financial institutions in North America. Compaq is positioning its NonStop(R) Payment Factory(TM) as a front office-to-back office integrated banking solution. The NonStop(R) Payment Factory is a complete hardware and software solution and allows banks to purchase state-of-the-art technology and software from a single point. Brokat's e-CMS will serve as the front end component of the solution.

The agreement allows Compaq the right to market and resell Brokat's corporate banking application on its NonStop Himalaya based platform. Brokat's software product will be bundled with Compaq's back-office wire system and will also be available on a stand-alone basis. Compaq will serve as the prime contractor and promote Brokat's applications as the corporate banking component for its entire NonStop(R) Payment offering. Compaq will also provide level one support for the software applications it sells, and train a professional service staff to install and implement Brokat's software.

The two organizations are working closely to ensure the success of the partnership. Compaq support and sales personnel will receive comprehensive product training on Brokat's e-CMS, as they prepare for the introduction of the new corporate banking component of NonStop Payment Factory. The new technology will be introduced and demonstrated in the Compaq booth at the Sibos tradeshow in San Francisco September 11 - 15.
