CyberKids and CyberTeens are World Wide Web sites maintained by Mountain Lake Software that include quarterly magazines of fiction and articles by children and teenagers; a "Young Composer" forum showcasing music created by young people; art galleries featuring art by young artists; an extensive database of links to other Web sites; and electronic bulletin boards where kids can post messages to each other. The Writing and Art Contest provides a forum for children and teenagers to communicate with kids from around the world and it gives them an opportunity to see their writing, art, and games or puzzles published on the Internet. "We've been very pleased by the quality of work submitted in the first two contests, so we've decided to make it an annual tradition," says Julie Richer, president of Mountain Lake Software. "Since many kids who access CyberKids and CyberTeens live outside the U.S., we encourage children from all countries to enter. We're hoping that kids will especially enjoy the new games and puzzles category." Contestants may enter in one of three categories: fiction, art, or games/puzzles. Entries will be judged in two age groups: 7D11 and 12D16. The deadline for entering the contest is December 31, 1996 and is open to young people from any country (void where prohibited pro·hib·it tr.v. pro·hib·it·ed, pro·hib·it·ing, pro·hib·its 1.
