), today announced that Robert (Bob) D. Shingler has joined the company, effective immediately, as president of Voice Services. In this newly created position, Shingler is responsible for Broadwing's wholesale, switched voice business. He reports directly to Jack Chidester, president of Business Enterprises.

Prior to joining Broadwing, Shingler served as chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Albion Connect Inc., an Atlanta-based emerging software provider of operating and support systems to the telecommunications industry. He was responsible for the strategic direction, finance and management aspects of software development, maintenance, sales and customer support. Prior to joining Albion Connect, Shingler was president of SteadFast.net Inc., an Austin-based CLEC (Competitive Local Exchange Carrier) An organization offering local telephone service that is not one of the traditional telephone companies.
