Broadway building raises bar on design and price.When developer Macklowe Properties opens its distinctive "see through" glass office/retail building at 610 Broadway in May, it will not only mark the arrival of Adidas to the red-hot Soho/NYU business district, it will also signify a notable achievement--the completion of the first modern "landmark" property in a neighborhood overflowing with classic architecture from earlier eras. But the meticulously designed glass and steel structure, with its subtle exterior curves and expansive interior office spaces with ceiling heights of up to 15 feet, is bringing more than design change to the Soho marketplace; it's bringing midtown prices as well.
