Broadway bound.I agree with Sylviane Gold's informative September "On Broadway" column which surveyed the upcoming season. Twyla Tharp's Movin' Out was a big step toward getting Broadway to appreciate the commercial potential of contemporary ballet. But I hope that dance theater doesn't deteriorate into the trivial sitcoms of most musicals. We need to find a way to be more community than commercially-minded. That's my hope as I look forward to seeing Chita Chita (chētä`), city (1989 pop. 366,000), capital of Chita region, SE Siberian Russia, at the confluence of the Chita and Ingoda rivers and on the Trans-Siberian RR. Railroad and food-processing equipment are manufactured. Founded in 1653, Chita was a place of exile of the 19th-century Decembrist rebels. Rivera and Twyla Tharp premiere their Broadway-bound shows in San Diego. Florencio Ramos San Diego, California |
