Before joining Broadview Networks, Balsham managed investor relations for Teligent, a broadband communications company Communications Company is a communications unit of the United States Marine Corps. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. . Balsham was based at Teligent's headquarters in Vienna, Va.

Previously, with Telecommunications Research, Inc., he performed valuation analyses to support spectrum auction planning and strategy for such clients as Bell Atlantic, Motorola and Iusacell. Earlier in his career, Balsham conducted financial analyses for KPMG KPMG Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (accounting firm)
