Broadview Networks Broadview Networks is a network-based electronically integrated communications provider (e-ICP) serving small and medium-sized businesses in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States. , a network-based integrated communications provider to business and residential customers, today announced several developments that will help pave the way for it to launch service in the Philadelphia area later this year.

The data, Internet and voice communications provider reported the following progress:

-- The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission has granted

Broadview Networks authority to provide competitive local

exchange carrier (CLEC) services in the state.

-- Broadview Networks has signed an interconnection agreement

with Bell Atlantic that establishes the terms under which the

two companies will interconnect their network facilities in

Pennsylvania.

-- Broadview Networks has leased 36,000 square feet at 400

Horsham Road in Horsham, Pa. The company is preparing the

space to include sales, customer service and network

operations. A switching system at the location - the fourth

switch on Broadview Networks' integrated data and voice

network - is expected to be activated later this year.

-- The company has named Timothy A. Humphrey, 38, of Willow

Grove, Pa., as Philadelphia sales director. Humphrey

York City and before that served as a senior sales manager for

MCI (1) (Media Control Interface) A high-level programming interface from Microsoft and IBM for controlling multimedia devices. It provides commands and functions to open, play and close the device.

administration graduate, he also has held sales positions with
