Broadened Life Sciences Platform Emerging: Veridien Corporation Achieves Key Planning Objectives in 2005.

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. -- Veridien Corporation (OTCBB:VRDE) announced today that it has achieved its key planning objectives for 2005, and has laid the groundwork for expanded ventures in the life sciences arena.

Mission Statement

Research and Development Activity

During 2005, through continued funding of its research and development arm, Mycosol Inc., Veridien has been actively engaged in the development of new antimicrobial and staining reagent products for the laboratory research, disinfectant, construction and durable materials markets. In that same period Mycosol filed several new patent applications for its antimicrobial and reagent compounds. Mycosol now has eight patents pending.

Mycosol has expanded its library of analogs and homologs to over 6,700 compounds, and has begun synthesizing sample compounds and testing them for efficacy against a panel of harmful and dangerous micro-organisms. In a parallel effort, Mycosol expects to initiate a technology development project with a leading university to optimize a family of cell staining reagents and antimicrobial additives used in laboratory research. The markets for laboratory reagents and antimicrobials are very large -- estimated in the aggregate to be over $2 billion annually. Veridien/Mycosol expect to launch its first commercial products into the laboratory research market in 2007.

Mycosol is also engaged in ongoing testing of its compounds as antimicrobial additives in order to, for example, extend the residual times of current Veridien disinfectant and antiseptic products from hours to days or longer.

Marketing Activity

Medical and Hospital Buying Groups:

--Veridien has established contracts with three major hospital buying groups for the company's core product line. These three, Magnet, PDM Healthcare and Managed Healthcare Associates account for purchases by over 16,000 Healthcare providers, 775 hospitals and 2500 Long Term Care facilities in the United States. Promotional launches started in December 05 and will continue through 2006.

--Veridien will continue to expand buying group contracts in 2006 and is currently in negotiations with two more national groups that cover in excess of 25,000 healthcare facilities and 1100 hospitals in the United States.

--Veridien has established marketing programs with its current medical and dental distributors to expand existing customer sales in 2006.

North American Markets/ Retail Launch:

--Veridien has commenced development of the Canadian market for Viraguard(R) Infection Control products. Discussions are underway for retail development with the largest food store chain and the largest drug store chain in Canada. Programs are also under development for entry into US drug chains. Veridien expects to be able to launch the Viraguard(R) consumer product line in Q2 / Q3, 2006.

Spa and Salon:

--Veridien has completed the marketing strategy to launch Viraguard(R) Infection Control Products into the burgeoning Spa and Salon Industry. The Viraguard(R) Promotions for this market should commence in Q2, 2006.

Private label / First Responder and Industrial Safety:

--Our multinational distributor in the First Responder and Industrial Safety markets continues to be pro-active in expanding its customer base in the United States and globally. In addition to Veridien's existing products, individually wrapped textured surface disinfectant wipes and a wall mounted antiseptic spray system are expected to be introduced into the Industrial Safety market in Q2, 2006. The production for both programs is already underway.

New Products:

--In 2005 Veridien launched three new products, the Viraguard(R) Water Cooler Cleaning Kit, Viraguard(R) Heavy Duty Textured Hospital Surface Disinfectant Towelettes and the Extra Large Hospital Surface Disinfectant Towelettes. These textured wipes provide end users with rugged disinfectant wipes for use in rigorous environments where contamination from blood and body fluids present a high risk to healthcare workers and the public.

--Veridien is in development discussions for bringing Viraguard(R) Infection Control Products into the retail market. Channels under discussion include retail drug chains, grocery chains, direct TV and shopping television venues for 2006. Viraguard(R) products are planned to appear on the shelves in consumer friendly packaging and consumer appropriate size formats in Q3, 2006. Recently, Veridien retained the services of Perennial Investments Inc. to assist Veridien's marketing team in the development of retail product programs, packaging design and contact with purchasing decision makers in major retail chains.

New Label Claims:

--Veridien received label approval from the US EPA for significant new kill claims. The label for Viraguard(R) Hospital Surface Disinfectant Towelettes now demonstrates agency recognition for killing Hepatitis A, B and C. The surface wipes are unique in the medical industry in that they have approved label kill claims for Hepatitis A, B and C, a disease that afflicts more than 4 million Americans (www.cdc.gov)

American Red Cross:

--Veridien renewed its supply contract with the American Red Cross and expanded the contract to include 5 more Viraguard(R) products than the previous contracts, including new formats for antiseptic hand sprays, antiseptic hand wipes, disinfectant wipes and textured disinfectant wipes

--Veridien established a charitable donation program for disaster relief to the Red Cross in 2005. Veridien initiated this program in response to the multiple hurricanes of 2005 and the needed disaster relief. The Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas (NYSE:WYNN), participated with Veridien in the donation of several thousand units of hand sanitizers for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Veridien will continue this program under the name "Because We Care..." for disaster relief planning in 2006.
