Broadcom Ships Industry-First High-Speed Home Networking Silicon; iLine10 Chipsets Deliver Shared Internet Access Using In-home Phoneline.

Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq:BRCM), a leading provider of integrated circuits enabling broadband communications to and throughout the home and business, today announced it is now shipping production quantities of the new iLine10(TM) high-speed home networking chipsets to PC OEMs and networking equipment providers.

iLine10 chipsets, the technology foundation for the new 10 megabits per second (Mbps) Home Phoneline Networking Alliance (HomePNA) 2.0 standard, are the first 10 Mbps standard-based devices to ship. The HomePNA is an association of more than 115 industry-leading companies working together to ensure adoption of a single, unified phoneline networking standard and rapidly bring to market a range of interoperable home networking solutions. Broadcom's subsidiary, Broadcom HomeNetworking, Inc., is a founding member of the Home PNA.
