Broadband Access Systems Executive Featured Panelist at IEEE CAS-COM Workshop 99.

Broadband Access Systems, the industry's only company exclusively focused on providing cable access solutions for the deployment of value-added data and voice services, will be participating in this week's IEEE Circuits and Systems and Communications Society's Workshop on High-Speed Data over Local Loops and Cable. Paul Nikolich, vice president of technology and standards for Broadband Access Systems, will be giving a presentation and taking part in a panel discussion entitled, "Hybrid Fiber-Coax Data Access: New Uses For The CATV Network."

Nikolich will be taking part in Session 2 (2:45PM and 4:15PM) on Monday, July 26. The focus of his presentation is "Standards in Broadband HFC Networking." The session will focus on utilization of the Hybrid Fiber Coax infrastructure for the delivery of enhanced video and emerging high speed Internet access and telephony services.

"The IEEE CAS-COM Workshop enables the engineering community to bring forth their ideas to one venue and share their ideas and opinions on the strengths and weaknesses of the HFC, DSL and wireless access infrastructures. The IEEE CAS-COM Workshop on High-Speed Data over Local Loops and Cable will commence on Monday, July 26 in Princeton, New Jersey. The workshops will continue for 3 days and provide numerous speakers from a wide range of industry and academia backgrounds. The sessions will vary in topics with a common theme that revolve around the emerging internet issues, high-speed access, and other forms of data communications.
