plug into the future of broadband content and technology

Keynote speaker Michael Robertson, chairman and chief executive officer of MP3.com Inc. brings his brand of vision to the first-ever Port Austin broadband expo, scheduled for November 9-11, 2000 in Austin, Texas. Robertson is scheduled to speak on Saturday, November 11th as a part of the Broadband Entertainment program.

Always the pioneer, Robertson is currently implementing the latest models for Internet music delivery, especially in the hot subscription marketplace that is attracting the likes of high-profile companies like Sony. You can expect Robertson to apply his predictive powers when speaking at Port Austin.

An evolutionary entrepreneur with superb instincts for forging innovative technologies into practical commercial enterprises, Robertson founded The Z Company in 1996 to merge search technologies and commerce. As president, he established Filez, the Internet's largest and fastest file search engine, and Websitez, a domain-name search engine.

Robertson next tackled the manageable music file formats for the Internet. He started San Diego-based MP3.com Inc. in 1997, and took it public in July 1999 (Nasdaq:MPPP (MultiLink PPP) An extension to the point-to-point protocol that enables two channels to be linked together to double the throughput. It is used for ISDN transmission and channel bonding. See PPP, ISDN and channel bonding. ). The result: An astonishing a·ston·ish

number of musicians, digital artists and labels now use the Internet in marketing and creating revenue from music. If Robertson's past endeavors are an indication of his future restless creativity, we have much to look forward to.
