NTUH's e-medical service system is divided into 3 categories -- personal medical services for patients (B2C), online medical cooperation with other hospitals (B2B), and NTUH's internal business administration and knowledge management division (B2E). BroadVision software will also enable NTUH to exchange patient and medical information with other medical facilities over the network. The system will also enable knowledge sharing, making hospital administration and outpatient information easily accessible to NTUH staff.

"Our e-medical services are designed to provide personalized services to the general public while greatly reducing our reliance on complicated manual procedures and time-consuming paperwork," said Dr. Yen-te Lee, president of National Taiwan University Hospital. "As more and more hospitals around the world are adopting e-business technologies to improve service and reduce costs, our goal is to become a model 'e-hospital' for Asia and the world at large."
