BroadVision To Incorporate RSA Encryption Technology Into Its Interactive Commerce Management System; Combination of Software Products Removes Privacy Obstacles for Secure Internet Commerce.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--September 20, 1995--RSA Data Security, Inc. today announced that BroadVision Inc. of Los Altos, Calif. will integrate RSA's encryption technology into its CoMarket Interactive Commerce Management System (ICMS) family of software tools and subsystems for supporting interactive business and consumer services. This means that buyers and sellers can conduct online business in a completely secure environment.

RSA's industry-standard encryption technology has been designed into BroadVision's ICMS platform, an integrated suite of software subsystems that enable buying and selling products online. The product is a high-performance, scalable, standards-based system that manages marketing programs, dynamic pricing, consumer privacy, transaction security and high transaction volumes within or across applications in an interactive mall or electronic storefront. BroadVision is currently designing and developing the first ICMS product for delivery by the end of the year.

Using RSA's technology, information stored by the ICMS will be encrypted so that sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, customer profile information, and electronic coupons and incentive points will be secure. In use, BroadVision's ICMS system will enable an online merchant to capture detailed information about shoppers' buying and browsing habits, product preferences, and other event-related data. The system can also securely store information provided by the online shopper, such as age, interests, payment preference, mailing address, credit card numbers and other information.
