BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq:BVSN), a leading provider of personalized e-business applications, today announced that on April 30, 2001 PTplace.com, the web site of CoLinx, LLC, launched its BroadVision-powered, shared services portal. Four leading industrial components manufacturers -- INA Holding Schaeffler KG, Rockwell Automation, the SKF Group, and The Timken Company -- have come together to found CoLinx to offer North American authorized distributors a convenient electronic shopping site and logistics services for the companies' industrial products. The updated PTplace.com, which grew out of an e-commerce initiative created by Rockwell Automation, went live after just 90 days of development and offers more than 190,000 products. Ninety days later, the site is booking nearly $2 million per week, and rapidly growing.

PTplace.com offers industrial distributors the ability to shop for products and services from multiple premium brand manufacturers at one site. This "pass-through portal," built using BroadVision's suite of e-business applications including BroadVision One-To-One(R) Enterprise, allows each manufacturer to manage their transactions and relationships with distributors separately. By working with PTplace.com, distributors can reduce the number of sites they need to access. Distributors are able to quickly place orders, check pricing and availability, and check their order status, which improves their ability to better serve their customers. In addition, "Single sign-on" capabilities allow distributors to access products from all of the manufacturers with just one login and password.
