) and 40 firms in the footwear and associated industries, is using BroadVision(R) software to power one of Spain's first B2B marketplaces, www.paso-paso.com. De Pie used a suite of e-business applications from BroadVision -- including BroadVision Business Commerce(TM) -- to create a site that connects footwear suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and retail outlets in order to lower costs, simplify purchases and transactions, promote synergies between participants and offer easy access to a range of services.

The paso-paso.com site was conceived as a business tool for the footwear industry -- a place where companies can have access to a whole series of value-added services and content, information useful for decision-making, as well as a platform for commercial B2B transactions.

De Pie chose BroadVision for its industry-leading personalization capabilities, ease of integration with other systems and feature-rich application offerings. BroadVision's personalization features are used to present customized content to individual users based on their profiles, enabling personalized offers that take into account factors such as purchasing frequency or customer quality. In addition, De Pie takes advantage of features that allow non-technical personnel to create and change business rules without requiring assistance from IT staff.

"BroadVision technology has enabled us to create a single source of personalized information tailored to the needs of each user, using business rules relevant to the footwear industry. Using BroadVision software we were able to reduce the deployment time for the first phase of this sophisticated project to just four months," said Jorge Bousquet, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Spanish system integrator BroadNexus supervised the development of De Pie's BroadVision implementation in conjunction with BroadVision Global Services.
