Multi-brand, Multi-channel Retail Solution

BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq:BVSN), a leading supplier of personalized e-business applications, today announced the completion of a major e-commerce project that includes the development of new websites for Currys (www.currys.co.uk) and The Link (www.thelink.co.uk), divisions of UK-based consumer electronics retailer Dixons Stores Group (DSG). BroadVision worked closely with Infogain, the e-business integrator, and an in-house development team from DSG to complete the project.

The project delivers a multi-brand (Dixons, Currys, PC World, The Link) and multi-channel (web, telesales, interactive TV, kiosk) retailing solution that allows customers to choose the most convenient way of finding and purchasing products, at any time, in any place, and by any means. The new web sites are supported by a variety of other retail technologies including a telesales operation, an order management system, stock and warehouse management systems and full tracking of deliveries to the customer's door, implemented by DSG with a range of other partners.

DSG required the new transactional web sites project to deliver full product catalogue functionality, advanced attribute based searching, side-by-side comparisons, persistent shopping carts, "click to call" functionality, order placement and update, editorial content such as jargon busters, a sophisticated mobile phone tariff selector for The Link, and advertising banner capabilities - all integrated with other applications and DSG legacy systems.

A suite of e-business applications from BroadVision - including BroadVision(R)Retail Commerce(TM) and BroadVision Publishing Center(TM) -- are the core applications for the web sites. System integrator Infogain was involved in the development of the multi-channel/multi-chain e-commerce system with individual front ends to recognize the branding of the various chains within the Dixons Stores Group. The first two BroadVision-powered sites -- Currys and The Link -- have been launched, and will be followed by new sites for Dixons, PC World, and other DSG brands.
